Pics for Adelyn

We had Adelyn over today to do some portraits. She is absolutely adorable! We put her in some baskets with fuzzy blankets, then put some soft blankets under her for some tummy time pics. It apparently was hard work for the little lady, as she slept towards the end. We couldn't resist taking some sleepy pics too!

Carla and Ian's Wedding

Carla and Ian had plans for a beautiful wedding in an old church in Hertford, North Carolina and a reception at a cabin owned by Ian. But then it snowed! Boy did it snow. It ended up snowing anywhere from 9 to 14 inches in some places! It was so bad, the caterer and the preacher couldn't make it, the church wasn't available and the reception was moved to a bed and breakfast. Along with the ceremony! The preacher married them over a cell phone, and they were making food all morning. We, of course, were determined to get there. So, what would normally have been a 45 minute drive ended up taking two and a half hours! They were so happy we got there, and in one piece! Carla was a beautiful bride, Ian was a handsome groom and the wedding went on! We were so happy to be a part of it! Here are some of the images from their very special day!

Jonathan and Jennifer's Engagement Shoot

Finally some nice weather here in Virginia Beach, and it came at a perfect time. We were able to do an engagement shoot for John and Jennifer this past Saturday without freezing! They are an awesome couple, down for anything, like climbing trees, jumping over flooded playgrounds and hanging out in a Native American hut! They will be getting married in June, and it should be a beautiful wedding.

Adam and Erin's Engagement shoot

We spent Saturday morning all the way through the early afternoon walking around downtown Norfolk finding the best nooks and crannies for our shoot with Erin and Adam. I think we found some great spots for some great shots! It was a little chilly but they were up for it. What a bunch of troopers! Downtowns are really fun for photo shoots, especially when you find the "out of the way places" like alleys, loading docks and doorways off the beaten path. Here are a few of those hidden places.

Portraits for Lilly!

We spent last Sunday afternoon taking some portraits of Lilly. She is just adorable! These were her Christmas and her six month pictures. Her mommy Tabitha watches our daughter Riley during the day. More can be seen on my website www.hrphotova.com

Monster Mash 2009

We had a great time photographing the kids at the Alanton Elementary School 2009 Monster Mash last Friday night. There were some terrific original ideas for costumes. Darth Vader, Boba Fett, storm troopers and Michael Jackson were all there! The kids were so much fun and their energy made for a great time. There were bean bag games, spooky bowling, lolly pops in the hay stack, a tattoo parlor and a pumpkin sweep game, all set up in the gym. There was also pizza, cup cakes, music and dancing for the kids. It was put together very well, and the kids had a great time. I'd like to thank Jennifer Dye for the opportunity to be a part of the event!
